The Daily Tribune reports that during a hearing Thursday in 44th District Court, Leach’s girlfriend, Misty Williams, testified that Leach and Walters seemed to be having fun until Walter made a profane slur against Leach’s sister, Maria, that allegedly set him off and he began firing his gun.

Oakland County Assistant Prosecutor David Heston said Walters was shot “at least five times.” Police reportedly recovered seven spent bullet casings.

After Thursday’s hearing, Royal Oak police had to intervene when several friends and relatives of both Leach and Walters began shouting at one another in the parking lot outside 44th District Court.
