CEO David Dauch, who succeeded his father, Dick, as the manufacturer’s chief executive in 2012, revealed the company’s plans in an interview with the Detroit Free Press during the Mackinac Policy Conference.

The jobs, which will include about 100 positions for engineers and technicians, will be near AAM’s headquarters at I-75 and Holbrook. AAM plans to build a $20 million advanced manufacturing development center near AAM’s headquarters, Dauch said.

Daugh said “a couple of prospective manufacturers … are very close to doing something in Detroit,” but declined to name them.
