TROY, MI, March 25, 2013 – The Walsh College Blackstone LaunchPad is pleased to announce the “Make It Better” business competition designed to encourage out-of-the-box thinking among local students. The winner will receive a $500 cash prize, with other cash prizes being rewarded.
Participants are required to submit an essay totaling 1,000 words or less. Students are asked to describe how they will redesign an existing product or service, or develop a new one, to help improve the quality of people’s lives or to Michigan or their community a better place to live.
The competition is open to high school and community college students who reside in Michigan, and Walsh College students and alumni.

There is also an optional marketing exercise for participants to create a one-page flyer to promote their product or service in a creative manner and have a chance at winning a $100 Apple gift card.
“Not only will this competition stimulate innovative thinking in young adults, it will expose students to the entrepreneurial community and the types of resources that the LaunchPad here at Walsh has to offer,” said Carol Glynn, director of the Blackstone LaunchPad at Walsh College.

This competition is funded by a grant from the Charles M. Bauervic Foundation.
