Chef Lorraine Platman of the popular Southfield restaurant Sweet Lorraine’s has prepared a special, “South-of-the-Border”-inspired menu as they celebrate Cinco de Mayo this weekend.
From the first course through dessert and a nightcap, Sweet Lorraine’s Cinco de Mayo menu is full of many favorites touched up with some Mexican-inspired flare.
The “Cubano” Burger — one of just many entrees — comes complete with a locally raised beef patty, cooked to your liking, topped with homemade chorizo, sautéed pepper and queso blanco.

And known for her many varieties of mac & cheese, Chef Lorraine has prepared the Macho Nacho Fabulous Mac N’ Cheez!, which adds spiced burger, tomatoes, bell peppers and sweet onions to their famous recipe, garnished with jalapeños and olives.
Along with the margaritas comes inventive desserts, such as the Adult Ancho Spiced Mexican Chocolate Suce & Coffee Ice Cream Sundae — coffee ice cream topped with Chile and cinnamon-spiced chocolate sauce, garnished with cinnamon sugar tortilla chips.
