Archdiocese of Detroit Remembers the Visit of Pope John Paul II
Pope John Paul II visited Metro Detroit 25 years ago and celebrated mass in the Silverdome. Did you see the Pope during his visit?
It was 25 years ago today Pope John Paul II completed a two-day visit to Michigan which included a visit to Hamtramck, delivering an address in Hart Plaza, meeting Detroit Tigers manager Sparky Anderson and celebrating a mass before more than 90,000 in the Silverdome.
To recognize the anniversary, the Archdiocese created a YouTube video with highlights of the visit.
