Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Residents with expired or out-dated prescription medicines can bring them to St. Clair Shores Police Department Saturday for Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.


During the last take-back day on April 28, citizens across the country turned in 276 tons of unwanted or expired medications for safe and proper disposal, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

  • Preventing pill abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.



  • It prevents potential teen drug abuse. One in seven teens nationally report using prescription drugs to get high, and many admit they found the medications in their own homes, the home of a family member or from a friend.



  • The Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is free and anonymous, with no question asked.


Residents taking advantage of the program are asked to remove all medications from their identifying containers, place in a bag, and drop it off at the station.
