Man Charged In Clinton Township Apartment Shooting: Police

Antoine Cortez Harvey​ faces life in prison after prosecutors said he fatally shot another man in a Clinton Township apartment complex.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A man accused of fatally shooting another man in his 30s on Sunday in a Clinton Township apartment faces the possibility of life in prison, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Antoine Cortez Harvey was charged with one count of premeditated first-degree murder and two counts of felony firearm after prosecutors said he shot Antonio Neal several times at the apartment.

Cortez faces life in prison without the possibility of parole for the first degree murder charge, and an additional two years for using a firearm during the course of that felony.

Cortez was being held on $1 million bond, and his next court appearance is scheduled for Monday at 8:30 a.m.

Officers said they were called to the County Squire Apartment Complex at Harper Avenue south of 16 Mile Road at 12:40 p.m. where they found the Neil shot numerous times inside the complex. He was taken to McLaren Hospital in Mt. Clemens, where he died from the gunshot wounds, officials said.
