Longest Dry Stretch In Decades To Make For A Sunny Memorial Day In MN

This will be the first time in a long time that there is practically no chance of rain for the whole long weekend, FOX9 reported.

Accuweather is predicting high temperatures of 81 degrees on Saturday, 82 on Sunday, and 86 on Monday, with sunny skies on all three days and a chance of rain ranging from only 5 percent to 12 percent.

MINNESOTA — Minnesota can look forward to sunshine and dry weather for all of Memorial Day weekend in a first since 2007, according to FOX9 and Accuweather.

While we've seen plenty of nice Memorial Day weekends in recent years, this will be the first time in a long time that there is practically no chance of rain for the whole long weekend, FOX9 reported.

"Plenty of sun and warming temperatures are expected over the next several days making for a beautiful Memorial Day weekend," the National Weather Service Twin Cities wrote in a tweet Thursday morning. "Though southerly winds could be a bit breezy, especially in western MN, our next chances for rain don't appear to arrive until mid-next week."

What's more, according to the extended forecast, we are practically guaranteed an 11-day stretch with dry weather in the metro leading up to and through the holiday, which has not happened in decades, FOX9 reported. The last time an equally dry stretch in May occurred was in 1955.
