Councilmember Clint Hooppaw Selected Ad Mayor To Fill Unexpired Term In Apple Valley City

The City will be advertising the vacancy and will be accepting applications until February 15, 2021.

At the City Council meeting of January 14, 2021, Councilmember Clint Hooppaw was selected as Mayor to fill the vacancy created when Mayor Mary Hamann-Roland was elected as Dakota County Commissioner.

Mayor Mary Hamann-Roland was recently elected as our new Dakota County Commissioner. After 22 years of dedicated service as Mayor, she officially resigned her position on January 4, 2021 and assumed her duties as a member of the County Board the next day.

At January 14, 2021 City Council meeting, the Council selected Councilmember Clint Hooppaw as our new Mayor to fill the Mayor’s unexpired term which runs through December 31, 2022. Mayor Hooppaw was officially sworn in as Mayor at the meeting, along with Councilmembers Tom Goodwin and Ruth Grendahl who were re-elected to their positions in November.
