Five-Vehicle Chain-Reaction Crash on Highway 77 in Apple Valley (limitless-news.com) — An early-morning chain-reaction crash involving five vehicles briefly disrupted traffic on northbound Highway 77 in Apple Valley, but fortunately no injuries were reported. State Patrol says slowing traffic in the left lane triggered a series of rear-end collisions, drawing responses from Apple Valley police, fire, and Allina Health as construction continues to narrow lanes along this busy commuter route.
   

2. Trash Compactor Fire at Apple Valley Target Prompts Second-Alarm Response (limitless-news.com) — Fire crews in Apple Valley quickly contained a trash compactor fire behind the Target on Pilot Knob Road Thursday afternoon, preventing damage to the store and avoiding injuries. Apple Valley and Rosemount firefighters, along with Dick's Valley Service, worked together to move and tip the burning compactor so crews could fully extinguish the flames and keep shoppers and staff safe.
   

3. Apple Valley tree-trimming worker crushed coworker's head with hydraulic grapple: Charges (fox9.com) — Apple Valley residents should know that a tree-trimming worker has been charged with second-degree manslaughter after another worker died in a hydraulic grapple incident on 132nd Street West. Court documents say the men were coworkers, and the charged worker remains in Dakota County Jail with bail set and another court hearing scheduled in September.
   

4. Minnesota woman in need of kidney donor as she battles end-stage renal disease (cbsnews.com) — A 34-year-old woman who grew up in Apple Valley is urgently seeking a kidney and pancreas donor as she battles end-stage renal disease and long-term diabetes. Now living in Alexandria, she remains tied to the Twin Cities for care and encourages potential donors to register through M Health Fairview, hoping a compatible match will restore her health and independence.
