DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — As the third-largest county in Minnesota, Dakota County plays a massive role in determining the outcome of the state's federal elections. This election cycle, voters here overwhelmingly voted for Democrats.
Here's the breakdown of how Dakota County residents voted in the presidential, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House elections:
U.S. President & Vice President (Dakota County votes only)
- Republican — Donald J. Trump and Michael R. Pence: 108,803 (41.79 percent)
- DFL — Joseph R. Biden and Kamala Harris: 144,833 (55.64 percent)
- Roque "Rocky" De La Fuente and Darcy Richardson: 546 votes
- Green Party — Howie Hawkins and Angela Walker: 837 votes
- Independent — Kanye West and Michelle Tidball: 618 votes
- Independent — Brock Pierce and Karla Ballard: 488 votes
- Socialism and Liberation — Gloria La Riva and Leonard Peltier: 123 votes
- Socialist Workers Party — Alyson Kennedy and Malcolm Jarrett: 79 votes
- Libertarian Party — Jo Jorgensen and Jeremy "Spike" Cohen: 2,973 votes

- Republican Tyler Kistner 109,017 votes (42.85 percent)
- Angie Craig 130,442 votes (51.27 percent)
