wrangled in another line of dramatic denim this month. Cowgirl Tuff Company—based in Cokato, MN—is now available at Amore & Fede on West 50th Street.

By adding Cowgirl Tuff, she’s one step closer to her goal, which is “to become your best boutique denim source in the country.”
Patient and particular, Parmater searched more than three years to locate “just the right line.”

Her criteria was an uncommon combination of:
- A cool look
- A flattering fit (like that of the Miss Me brand her store is known for)
- Sized up to 16
- A more modest rise in the back
She found it all in Cowgirl Tuff. Owner/Designer Lisa Bollin, created a jean that is both flattering and functional.
“We started out with a dream of offering a more stylish sportswear line to cowgirls,” said Bollin, who owns three horses and competes in barrel races. “I live in comfy jeans and tees every day…but with some bling and cool embellishments. And that’s what we created—clothing designed for people who work hard and play hard, and want to look great while doing it.”
Educated in fashion merchandising and design, Bollin loves mainstream fashion and all the fun of styles and trends. In 1999, she decided to blend some western style into mainstream looks and created embellished graphic tee-shirts to sell at rodeos and races. Now a full-fledged wholesaler, Cowgirl Tuff is available in 1,500 stores coast-to-coast.
Famous actress Cameron Diaz has been seen wearing the brand. Candidly photographed in a Cowgirl Tuff tee, her picture appeared in May issue of People Magazine. Diaz will star alongside Colin Firth in a remake of Gambit, written by St. Louis Park natives Joel and Ethan Coen.
“Lisa received a phone call from someone on the set of Gambit,” offered up Sheryl Parkin, member of the Cowgirl Tuff team. “They asked her to sign off on potentially using one of our shirts in the promotional poster for the movie.”
Exciting Hollywood stuff for a business that started in the middle of a Minnesota field farmed by Bollin’s father.
Amore & Fede now carries Cowgirl Tuff jeans in women’s sizes 0-16, as well as girls sizes for ages five to fifteen. The boutique also offers deluxe denim done by L.A. Idol, Nissi, Clash and of course their mainstay, Miss Me, which were recently featured at the store's fashion show.
Confident her customers would fall in love with Cowgirl Tuff, Parmater announced the anticipated arrival of the brand to the curious crowd. One week later, seven Cowgirl Tuff denim styles rode into the Edina store along with 22 new styles of new summer dresses and tops—including Cowgirl Tuff tees.
