 Potential CD3 Candidates for the U.S. Congress



Sharon Sund is a small business operator with a professional background in science and technology including degrees in chemistry, biology and technical communications from Macalester College and the University of Minnesota.  She worked as a scientist in research and development in the disk drive industry for 9 years and has done technical communications consulting for several major corporations and medical device companies. 

Sharon and her family live in Plymouth where she served as parent representative for the West Suburban Early Intervention upward bound program and taught and preached once a month as Lay Minister at her church.  She volunteered as the Minnesota regional coordinator for Moveon.org.

Brian Barnes manages global marketing and sales for the marine division of a Fortune 200 company and is an 11-year veteran of the U. S. Naval Reserve.  He served as a substitute teacher between shipping assignments.

He has held Democratic leadership roles on district and state committees. Most recently Barnes served as associate chair in Senate District 44 before he and his wife relocated to Edina.
