(PHOTOS) Cross Country Teams Run at Minnetrista
Girls team finishes third, Piper Bain takes third overall, boys junior varsity runners also take a crack at the hilly course.
The Edina girls cross country team finished third overall on Tuesday at the Bauman Rovn Invitational hosted by Hopkins High School at Gale Woods Farm in Minnetrista.
Lakeville North won the girls event with a team score of 55, while Eden Prairie took second at 81. Edina took third with 114 points.
Senior Piper Bain led the way for the Hornets. She finished the event in 15:13.4, behind Robbinsdale Armstrong’s Emily Knapczyk’s 15:04.2 and Lakeville South’s Kaytlyn Larson’s 15:10.7.

The Hornets also got strong performances from senior Stephanie Kohn, who took 18th at 15:46.8, sophomore Bridgit Loeffelholz’s 26th place finish at 15:58.4 and senior Laura Schmiel’s 33rd place finish at 16:16.4.
Senior McKenzie Lee took 34th at 16:18.8, senior Elaine Rock finsihed 48th at 16:37.3 and junior Sarah Downey took 58th at 16:48.7.
