Room No. 3 Opens its Doors at 50th & France

The lingerie boutique will hold a grand opening celebration in mid-August.

While other lingerie shops market to the college crowd, introduce sports themed lines and call in shoppers with loud colors or free-with-purchase stuffed animals, a new boutique at 50th & France is taking a more refined route.

“Our vision for Room No.3 was to create an experience to remember,” co-owner Beth Griesgraber said. “One similar to a memorable holiday or retreat away.”

Thus the white and cream color palette, open floor plan and delicate design additions like the glass bowl of seashells next to a tabletop of carefully placed bras and panties or the faux fireplace in the sitting area at the boutique’s entrance. The aesthetic is romantic and contemplative, the lingerie delicate and elegant.

Officially opening on July 2, three doors in from the 50th & France intersection (hence the boutique’s name), Room No. 3 fills a hole in the sophisticated shopping district’s offerings.

“It’s the perfect addition,” nearby boutique ’s co-owner Allison Mowery said. “I just think we need something great to put under the great clothes around here.”

Room No. 3 co-owners Jessica Strong and Beth Griesgraber thought so as well. Selecting lingerie and loungewear that made them feel “sexy down to [their] skin” and intuitively designing the space to match that vision, the two women created a local getaway with their shop, catering to women who seek the same.

“It’s really just our own vision of what makes us feel pretty and sexy and romantic,” Strong said.

Strong and Griesgraber met while working at another women’s boutique in the area. Both had always dreamt of opening her own shop. After working together for four years, the two were ready to make a go of it on their own, together.

“I knew I didn’t want to do it on my own but I knew I wanted to open my own business, and [Griesgraber] knew she wanted to open her own business but didn’t want to do it on her own, so it was perfect,” Strong said.

Strong said the response so far at the boutique has exceeded expectations. After a few short weeks, the shop is already thin on some lines and will begin to receive fall shipments soon. The boutique currently stocks approximately 25 lines, including Only Hearts, Chantelle and the Beautiful Bottoms line out of London, which Strong says encompasses the “vision and feel of the store.”

In addition to lingerie, the shop also offers a selection of loungewear and bath items. Fall in love with a mirror or decorative throw? Those items are for sale as well, giving guests the opportunity to bring a piece of the boutique’s unique aesthetic home.

The new boutique is open the following hours:

  • Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
  • Saturday 11 a.m.–6 p.m. (Saturday mornings before 11 are reserved for private events, like bridal parties)
  • Sunday noon–5 p.m.
