Property Manager 'Critical But Stable' In Minneapolis Attack, Family Says (patch.com) — Minneapolis readers are learning more about the Shoreline Plaza property manager critically injured in Wednesday's downtown mass shooting, now identified by family as 56-year-old Jan Elaine Peterson of Blaine. Authorities say Peterson was among multiple victims shot by a tenant facing eviction, in an attack that also left two residents dead, two Minneapolis police officers wounded, and the gunman killed in an exchange of gunfire.
   

2. Minneapolis Man Arrested After Pair of Gunpoint Robberies (mncrime.com) — Two recent gunpoint robberies in Minneapolis, including one near Washington and Third and another by a dorm on 26th and Stevens, have led to a first-degree aggravated robbery charge against 19-year-old Anthony Cory Johnson. Investigators tied a black Chevy Impala, stolen phones, and a credit card back to Johnson, and prosecutors say he poses a danger to public safety.
   

3. Minneapolis Ranks High For Retirement Despite Cold Winters (wjon.com) — Minneapolis has been ranked the seventh-best U.S. city for retirement in a recent WalletHub study, despite its long, snowy winters. The ranking reflects factors like activities, walkability, parks, taxes, culture, and quality of life, offering reassurance to locals considering staying near family instead of heading south in their later years.
   

4. Son of crop art founder reflects on exhibits growing popularity (kare11.com) — Minnesota State Fair's crop art exhibit is drawing record crowds, with nearly 600 seed-based artworks and lines stretching up to two hours. The founder's son reflects on his family's legacy and, for Minneapolis residents, some of these popular pieces will soon be viewable at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.

Minnesota healthcare workers, gun control advocates renew call for action after deadly Minneapolis shooting (kttc.com) — After a deadly shooting in Minneapolis left three people dead and several injured, healthcare workers and gun control advocates gathered at Minneapolis City Hall to demand tougher firearm laws. DFL lawmakers highlighted proposed changes to red flag laws, while Senate Republicans issued a statement offering prayers and support for victims and injured officers.
