• City of Missoula Public Works holds open house for Lower Miller Creek improvements project (kpax.com) — Missoula's Public Works Department is advancing a $7.7 million improvement plan for Lower Miller Creek Road, which could add sidewalks, bike lanes, and wider shoulders but also one-time SID taxes for nearby homeowners. Residents packed an open house at Jeannette Rankin Elementary to question safety, wildfire evacuation, and costs before Missoula City Council takes up several meetings and an expected October vote.
   

• Once slated for subdivision, 242-acre property near Bonner to be publicly accessible (easternprogress.com) — A 242-acre property above Bonner, just east of Missoula, has been purchased by Missoula-based Five Valleys Land Trust and permanently protected from subdivision. Funded partly by Missoula County's 2018 Open Space Bond, the new Bonner Ridge parcel will eventually open for public access while safeguarding key wildlife habitat, scenic views, and wildfire resilience near local communities.
   

• Clark Fork Coalition hosts public meeting to discuss mining proposals on public land (nbcmontana.com) — A public meeting in Missoula brought residents together to learn about three major mining exploration proposals affecting the Clark Fork River watershed and nearby public lands. Experts outlined potential impacts from new roads and large drill rigs, and explained how locals can engage in the legal and regulatory process to protect their water and landscape.
