• Officials stocking rainbow trout across Nebraska (thebestmix1055.com) — Anglers in Norfolk can soon target freshly stocked rainbow trout, with 1,500 fish headed to Ta-Ha-Zouka Park Lake during the week of Oct. 12 as part of a statewide program. Nebraska Game and Parks is releasing 12-inch trout in community waters across the state, encouraging residents to enjoy fall weather, read the Going Fishing Guide, and buy permits online.
   

• Rain and mud can't stop the Wolfpack runners (elginreview.com) — Norfolk Catholic runners Andrew Kastl and Mayla Sukup topped their divisions at the rain-soaked Tom Dickey Cross Country Invitational in Albion, posting the fastest boys' and girls' times overall. Wolfpack runners Matthew Kerkman and Samantha Stuhr each earned eighth-place medals, and the team now turns its attention to Friday's Battle Creek Invite.
