Elton John Cancels Vegas Shows For Health Reasons

Elton John has canceled his plans for a series of live shows in Las Vegas at the end of the month and in early May. In a statement released by The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, John said he had contacted a potentially deadly bacterial infection during his tour of South America.

John became violently ill on the flight back to the United Kingdom.
His doctors admitted him to a hospital, where he underwent immediate treatment to remove the infection. After spending two nights in intensive care followed by an extended stay in the hospital, Elton was released from hospital on Saturday, April 22 and is now comfortably resting at home per doctor’s advice.

Infections of this nature are rare and potentially deadly.
He is expected to make a full and complete recovery.
John will be returning to his schedule of live performances in Twickenham, England on Saturday, June 3.
John had been scheduled to perform "The Million Dollar Piano" at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is now entering its final year of performances; ending its run in May 2018.
