The move shifts full responsibility for the new road's upkeep, drainage systems, and bridge structure to the town, with officials expecting it to last about 30 years under proper maintenance.
• New Hampshire consumers feeling effects of high diesel prices (wmur.com) — A Bedford shopper describes clipping coupons and hunting for off-brand bargains as diesel prices soar to $6.40 a gallon, pushing up grocery costs across New Hampshire. With meat and dairy expected to rise fastest, local families in Bedford are already changing what they buy and how they shop to stretch their budgets.
