MANCHESTER, NH — Two men were arrested and held on charges after an incident inside an apartment building in the Queen City. Around 8:45 p.m., police were sent to Chestnut Street for a report of a possible assault case, according to Heather Hamel, the public information officer for the Manchester Police Department. A woman claimed she was inside an apartment, managed to escape, and there were other women inside, being held against their will, Hamel said.

"She also reported that one was being beaten," Hamel stated.

Police arrived at an apartment but a man inside wouldn't open the door. After "multiple commands" to open the door, police forced it open. Inside, Hamel said, they found two women including one with "obvious injuries to her face."
