2 Charged After Concord High School Shooting Threat Investigation

Kyle Slogic of Concord and Brandon Foster of Pittsfield are facing felony criminal threatening, misuse of computer, and false alarm charges.

CONCORD, NH — A school shooting threat posted on social media against Concord High School last weekend has led to charges against two, according to police. Kyle T. Slogic, 21, pictured upper left, of Concord, and Brandon T. Foster, 18, of Pittsfield, were both arrested Thursday and charged with conspiracy to commit criminal threatening and misuse of computer or network charges, both felonies, as well as false public alarm misdemeanor charges. Foster and Slogic were charged after police learned of a shooting threat against the school posted Sunday on Facebook.

After learning of the threat, off-duty Concord police detectives were called in to work the case and located all involved persons, according to Lt. Sean Ford, the commander of the criminal investigations division of the Concord Police Department.

"Detectives ultimately identified the individual responsible for the post," Ford said. "Concord police made contact with the account holder and that person was detained while mental health professionals conducted an evaluation. The investigation revealed that a relative of the account holder gained access to the account holder’s Facebook account and posted a message that was easily interpreted as threatening to school safety."

Revenge, he said, between the suspects and the unwitting account holder appeared to be the motive for the incident. As a result of the investigation, charges were brought against both Slogic and Foster. They were held without bail and are expected to be arraigned today in Merrimack County Superior Court.

Ford thanked students and parents who saw the original post and reached out to police with their concerns. Facebook, he added, failed to assist the department with the investigation.
