2 NH Fugitives In Custody: U.S. Marshals Service

Benjamin Mackenzie and Kim Wheeler, both wanted on warrants on various charges, were captured recently by police and are being held.

CONCORD, NH — Two recent New Hampshire fugitives featured as District of New Hampshire - New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force Fugitives of the Week are in custody, according to a press alert. Benjamin Mackenzie, 21, left, who was wanted for allegedly failing to appear in court on sale of a controlled drug-fentanyl and distribute fentanyl-death result charges was captured on Nov. 28, 2017, in Kingston. Kim Wheeler, 48, a convicted welfare fraudster who was featured two weeks ago, turned herself in to Manchester Police on Nov. 29.

According to Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White, Mackenzie, who was featured as the Fugitive of the Week on Nov. 15, produced a number of leads from two states. After investigating all of the tips, they found and arrested him on Shore Road in Kingston.

“Mackenzie was transported to the Strafford County Jail where he is currently being held pending his court hearings on these very serious charges,” according to White.

Wheeler was wanted on a probation violation after being convicted of welfare fraud. However, she also had an outstanding warrant out of Hillsborough County for violation of a protective order. After turning herself in to police, she was held at the Hillsborough County Jail and resolved the protective order charge today, according to White.

“The U.S. Marshals Service is in the process of taking custody of Ms. Wheeler and transporting her to the Federal Courthouse in Concord where she will have her initial court appearance on her federal probation violations at a later time today,” White said in a statement.
