2-State Hunt For Assault To Murder Fugitive Ends In Massachusetts
Update: The nearly 3-month search for Freedom Weymouth, on eight assault and battery charges, ended in Peabody last week.

CONCORD, NH — For a little less than three months, the U.S. Marshals Service has been looking for a convicted attempted arsonist wanted on assault and battery and assault to murder charges and now, he's behind bars. Freedom Weymouth, 40, was arrested by police in Peabody, Massachusetts, on Aug. 15, according to Deputy Jeffrey White of the U.S. Marshals Service on warrants. Weymouth was featured as the Fugitive of the Week in New Hampshire on May 1, because marshals in the Bay State thought he might be hiding out in the southern part of the Granite State.
White said police in Peabody "received information that pointed to a friend of Weymouth’s apartment on Jacobs Street" in the North Shore city last week. Both Peabody officers and officers from the surrounding departments went to the apartment at around 10 p.m., with a K-9 unit, in an attempt to arrest Weymouth.
"Weymouth surrendered to officers without incident," White stated.
