2-Vehicle Crash Closes Route 28 In Allenstown: Video

Police, fire and rescue teams were sent to an accident near Deerfield Road on Wednesday; crash also reported on Concord's East Side Drive.

ALLENSTOWN, NH — Route 28 was closed for a short period of time on Wednesday after a two-vehicle crash shut down the roadway.

Capital region dispatch called EMTs to the scene around 5 p.m. near Deerfield Road. Mutual aid was also requested from Epsom to assist.

The first arriving firefighters reported, “heavy damage” to the vehicles — a Dodge SUV and Plymouth sedan. The highway was down to one lane, command stated, and was then shut down.

Two patients were evaluated and a re-tone was issued for Allenstown EMTs to assist. A tow truck was also called in to remove the vehicles.

Both patients refused to be taken to the hospital and EMTs cleared the scene. Firefighters stayed until the vehicles were removed.

Another crash was reported on East Side Drive in Concord, between two Toyotas, at around the same time. Concord fire and rescue teams reported two vehicles with minor damage. The caller requested EMTs to check on her children to make sure they were OK, according to police dispatch.

Firefighters cleared later, reporting no injuries, according to scanner chatter.
