CONCORD, NH — Voters in Ward 4 in Concord will head to the polls on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, to cast ballots in a special election to fill the district city council seat being vacated by Byron Champlin, who was elected to an at-large seat in a special election in March. But, if you can’t vote on that day, absentee ballots are now available, according to Janice Bonenfact, Concord's city clerk. Absentee ballots are available for voters due to being absent from town on the day of an election, a religious observance, or a physical disability.

Three candidates are running for the open seat: Retired state employee, historian, and former mayoral candidate John Cook, Edith Chiasson, a New Hampshire Lottery Commission employee, and Meredith Hatfield, an environmentalist.

If you are not registered to vote but live in the district, the last day to register before June 4, is May 28.
