According to a court affidavit, back on May 12, 2015, an officer was sent to the Walmart on Loudon Road for a report of a man returning a fishing rod without a receipt that an employee discovered had been stolen. The employee cued up the video of the man, later identified as Machado, allegedly taking one of the rods off the shelf and then leaving the store without paying for it. The employee said she recognized the man from previous investigations to be Machado.
“At no time did it appear that the subject paid for the item that was in his hand,” the officer alleged.

The officer confirmed it was Machado from his booking photo and filed a warrant on Jun 7.
A few days later, according to a second court affidavit, another warrant was taken out against Machado for possession of controlled drugs.
A detective noted in the warrant that the city’s drug enforcement unit had been conducted a 10-month investigation into heroin and fentanyl distribution in Concord.
The investigation involved Machado and Danielle Clark, who were both arrested on June 3, 2015, on various charges, as well as Rebecca Machado, who was arrested on March 3, 2015, Mason Gatanti, who was arrested on June 10, 2015, and two other men, according to the court affidavit.
The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Drug Task Force along with Concord Police went to the Greenwood Avenue address on June 3, and arrested Machado. At the time of the raid, Machado was allegedly sleeping near a bag of marijuana that was later reportedly determined to be his, since it was in his primary living quarters, according to the report.
On July 29, Machado was charged at the Merrimack County House of Corrections and arraigned remotely the next day.
