CONCORD, NH — A man from Concord is expected to be in both Concord District Court and Merrimack County Superior Court next month to face attempted assault and disorderly charges as well as a second driving under the influence and another felony habitual offender charge, according to police and court documents.
Casey James Hynes, 35, of Loudon Road in Concord, was arrested at 8:36 p.m. on July 25 on simple assault-attempt and disorderly conduct charges. On July 12, he was charged with driving under the influence, DUI-second offense, and a felony count of habitual offender, as well as a stop signs; yield signs violation.
Limited information is available about both cases.
On the drunken driving charges, according to a complaint, Hynes ran a stop sign at the intersection of D'Amante Drive and Triangle Park Drive around 7:15 p.m. on July 12.
At the time, police said he was driving a Chevrolet. Police pulled him over in the Home Depot parking lot and accused him of driving under the influence. Hynes was previously convicted of driving under the influence in November 2017 in Coos County Superior Court, a report stated. The NH DMV deemed him a habitual offender in October 2020, police said.
Hynes pleaded not guilty to the DUI charges on July 27. He was scheduled to return to court on Aug. 18. The case was boundover to Merrimack County Superior Court on Aug. 19. Hynes has a status conference scheduled for Sept. 22.

Hynes was also accused of throwing a rock at a woman at the Salisbury Green apartment complex around 2 p.m. on July 25. He pleaded not guilty to the charges on July 27.
Hynes is due back in Concord District Court on Sept. 17 for a hearing on the attempted assault and disorderly charges.
Hynes was granted public defenders in both cases.
According to court documents, Hynes has a lengthy criminal history, dating back to his teens.
In 2008, Hynes was charged with criminal threatening in Concord, first-degree assault-conspiracy, and acts prohibited. Hynes pleaded guilty to the first-degree assault charge in October 2009 and received a 12-month jail sentence, with 324 days of credit, and three years of probation. He also pleaded guilty to the acts prohibited charge and received a suspended three-year prison sentence.
In May 2010, he was charged with robbery, second-degree assault, reckless conduct, acts prohibited, and conduct after an accident in Concord. He pleaded guilty to the robbery, acts prohibited, and crash charges and received a two-to-four-year prison sentence and a three-to-six-year prison sentence, both suspended for 10 years. He was also sentenced to one to three years in prison. Hynes was also found guilty of two counts of probation violations in August 2010 and was sentenced to two to 10 years in prison, with 100 days' credit and $180 in restitution.
Hynes was charged again with acts prohibited out of Concord in June 2015. He pleaded guilty in February 2016 and received a 12-month sentence and a $650 fine, both suspended.
In Gorham in May 2017, he was charged with driving while intoxicated, transport drugs in a motor vehicle, and possession of narcotic drug. Six months later, Hynes pleaded guilty to the DUI and drug charges and received a suspended sentence and a nine-month sentence.
In March 2019, Hynes was charged with habitual offender and disobeying an officer in Conway. A month later, he was charged again with habitual offender and disobeying an officer in Conway two more times. As part of a plea deal, Hynes was given two more suspended sentences.
Hynes was also charged with habitual offender in Concord in August 2024. That led to another plea deal and another three-year suspended sentence in April 2025, after serving one day in jail.
Previously, according to reports on Patch, Hynes has been arrested on theft, willful concealment, and bench warrants.
