CONCORD, NH — A motorcyclist from Exeter died in a crash on Monday afternoon in Dover, according to New Hampshire State Police.
Around 12:45 p.m., troopers were sent to Route 16, the Spaulding Turnpike, for a crash report with injuries. When they arrived, they found the driver of a 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle struck the center median guardrail and the riders from the bike. Jason Emerzian, 44, of Exeter, was struck by another vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, Trooper Nicole Stone of state police said. A passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Stone said Emerzian was driving south when he lost control of the motorcycle “for reasons that remain under investigation.” The southbound lanes of the highway were closed for about an hour. Troopers were assisted by Dover police, Dover fire and rescue teams, the NH DOT, the chief medical examiner’s office, and Eddie B’s Towing and Recovery Service.
