The caller alleged that while in the store, there was a woman feeding a baby who appeared to be impaired and was now, leaving in a GMC Acadia. The caller alleged that the woman was “nodding off” and “ran into chairs as she was leaving the store.”
When the officer arrived, he saw the SUV pull out of the parking lot in front of a white van causing the van to brake quickly to keep from hitting the GMC. The officer caught up with the GMC, which was driving westbound, at around 20 mph in a 30 zone, and traveled along beside it. During the course of driving next to the SUV, the officer alleged that it nearly struck the front of the cruiser, was straddling the white dotted line and in the middle of the bridge, made a sharp correction back into the lane.

The officer initiated a traffic stop but the vehicle didn’t acknowledge the officer until he turned on the siren and then, it pulled into the parking lot of the CVS on Hall Street.
The officer spoke with Harris who allegedly stated she didn’t have a driver’s license to give the officer. The officer alleged that she showed “signs of narcotic use in her eyes which had very constrict pupils, droopy eyelids, and slow reflexes.” He also reportedly smelled marijuana coming from Harris but she denied using marijuana or any other non-prescribed drugs, according to the report.
After a field sobriety test, she was arrested.
A child and the child’s father who was also reportedly in no condition to drive were in the SUV. Another relative was called to pick them up, according to the report.
A records check showed that Harris’ license was suspended by the NH DMV on July 25, 2014. She was also convicted of DWI in Ossipee District Court in December 2012.
After arriving at the police station, Harris allegedly had issues keeping her balance and walking and would have fallen had the officer not assisted her in walking from the cruiser.
Harris is due in court on Jan. 26.
Previously, she has been arrested in Concord twice on warrants out of Laconia District Court.
