The woman's body was found on the shoreline near the River Road boat launch around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. Witnesses and police reported the woman was naked, floating along the river, and then her body became caught in some brush. The body did not appear to be in the water for very long, an officer said. Investigators have initially ruled the case a "probable drowning."

After an autopsy and a search for clues again on the river, a forensic sketch was released on Monday, which led to her being identified. Miller said after the forensic artist rendition of Gorfinkle was released, Bow police and the Crimeline received tips from across the United States.
