City Of Concord Sets New Tax Rate: $27.69 Per $1,000 Assessed Value

Penacook residents in the MV School District will pay $30.64 per thousand rate due to higher school taxes; tax bills due Jan. 2, March 31.

CONCORD, NH—The city of Concord has set new tax rates approved by the state, according to Stefanie Breton, the city’s public information officer.

Concord residents in the SAU 8 Concord School District will see a new rate of $27.69 per $1,000 assessment, an increase of 83 cents. The city portion of the tax increased by 33 cents per the fiscal year 2025 budget. The Concord School District tax rate will be $13.96.

For Penacook residents in the Merrimack Valley School District, the rate will be $30.64 per $1,000, with a $16.87 MVSD rate — an increase of $1.49.

“The city’s tax rate reflects careful considerations and the hard work of Mayor Champlin and the members of city council during a difficult budget year,” Breton said.

The county rate was set at $2.32 per $1,000 assessed value, while the statewide education property tax (SWEPT) is $1.57 for Concord and $1.61 for Merrimack Valley residents.

Breton said the city’s finance department was preparing for the third and fourth quarter tax bills to be mailed at the beginning of next month. The due date will be Jan. 2 and March 31, 2025. Interest will be due on all payments made after those dates, she said.
