Concord Fire Contains Brush Blaze On Silk Farm Road

Updated: Concord firefighters extinguished another brush fire this afternoon at Lewis Farm.

CONCORD, NH — Concord Fire and Rescue teams quickly knocked down a brush fire on Silk Farm Road this afternoon. The fire was first reported at Lewis Farm at a little before 2 p.m. on April 17, 2019. When firefighters arrived, according to Chief Dan Andrus of the Concord Fire Department, they encountered a 300 feet by 100 feet fire.

Firefighters doused the brush fire with water at multiple locations on the property, according to firefighters. The fire extended from brush into the forest area around the property just skirting the line with Blake’s All Natural Foods.

The fire was only one alarm but additional trucks and a water tanker were requested to assist, according to Northeast Fire Alerts. Andrus stated that it is the first brush fire of the season in Concord.

Six acres at Lewis Farm were scorched back in March 2017. The cause of that fire was brush being burned on the grounds.
