Concord Fort Eddy Road Water Main Update: Lanes Still Closed
Water crews with Concord General Services made repairs on Wednesday but will have sections of the road closed through Thursday.
CONCORD, NH — The northbound lanes of Fort Eddy Road in Concord remain closed on Thursday for repairs.
Concord General Services, police, and firefighters were called to the road on Wednesday for a water main break. General services water crews spent the afternoon and evening repairing the break — a 4 to 5 foot opening from an 8-inch cement-lined cast iron water main first installed in 1970, according to Angelina Zulkis, a communications coordinator for general services. Water was restored around 6:30 p.m. while repairs were completed at about 9 p.m.
“Crews backfilled the trench last night and continue to complete road repairs this morning,” she said. “It is anticipated for the road to be back open to traffic by later this afternoon.”
