Concord Homeless Camp Stabbing Update: Cops Seek Tips About Case
Concord Regional Crimeline Alert: Investigators are asking for witnesses with info to come forward after a large fight on Black Hill Road.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police have hit a wall in making an arrest after a stabbing at a massive homeless camp on Black Hill Road on Wednesday.
Police, and firefighters and EMTs, were sent to the camp, located at the site of the former Concord Drive-In, around 6 p.m. for a report of “a large fight,” involving more than a dozen people and machetes, according to scanner chatter. The fight led to at least one man being stabbed in the back. The victim was taken to Concord Hospital and is expected to survive the injury, according to Deputy Chief John Thomas of the Concord Police Department.
Witnesses gave police the names of two suspects and officers spent about two hours attempting to locate the men at various locations around the city, including Perley Street, the homeless camp under the Water Street bridge, as well as other locations.

“Detectives conducted several interviews and it does not appear that this was a random event,” Thomas said. “It is believed that all parties involved knew each other.”
Before the coronavirus pandemic, the site was the location of a proposal potential mixed-use development project — including multi-family housing, assisting living units, retail, office, medical, and a hotel, between Manchester Street and Garvins Falls Road, in October 2019. The city rezoned the parcel in December 2019, in an effort to goose the project forward. There have also been a number of brush fires at the camp in recent years.
