Concord Man Loses His Life in Motorcycle Accident

Heath Wilkins was killed this afternoon; Manchester Street is closed from Airport Road to Route 106 while accident is being investigated.

A local man lost his life earlier today due to an accident on his motorcycle, according to police.

Heath Wilkins, 33, of Concord, was killed at around 4 p.m. on May 3, 2015.

According to police and posts on Facebook, at around 4 p.m., officers were sent to the area around 192 Manchester Street for a report of a crash.

When they arrived, officers learned that a single motorcycle was involved in the crashed and that the operator, Wilkins, did not survive the crash.

Currently, Manchester Street between Airport Road and Route 106 is closed until further notice while police investigate the incident.

“The accident is under investigation,” said Lt. Michael Guarino, a watch commander with the Concord Police Department, in a statement.

According to posts online by eyewitnesses and information sent to Patch, Wilkins was reportedly doing wheelies and speeding while on the street between Veano’s and Dunkin’ Donuts right near the Pembroke line when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident but did not survive.

According to online reports, Wilkins was arrested earlier this year after police stumbled upon a burglary in Gilmanton on March 20, involving a number of weapons. According to the Laconia Daily Sun, both Wilkins and an accomplice, Jeromy Woodey, were indicted last month and were scheduled to be arraigned in Belknap County Superior Court on the charges
