Concord Police ID North State Street Crash Victim, Driver: Update

Investigators request anyone with information about the Dec. 2 fatal crash or who might have dashcam footage to come forward.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police released the names of a victim of a fatal crash two weeks ago as well as the driver involved on Friday.

Ewa Martel, 75, of Concord, was struck and killed while walking on North State Street on Dec. 2 in the Hood plant and Dolan Street area of the city. The crash was reported around 10:45 a.m., with police stating Martel appeared to have been thrown about 30 feet. She sustained skull and hip fractures during the crash. An obituary for Martel does not appear to have been posted online yet.

The driver was identified as Timothy Ricker, 53, of Concord. He was traveling south on North State Street at the time of the accident. No charges have been filed in the case.

Lt. Marc McGonagle of the criminal investigations division said on Dec. 5, Ricker “remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.”

Ricker, according to a police blotter post on Patch, was cited for reckless operation in June after an incident near Merrimack Valley High School on Village Street.

McGonagle said police are requesting anyone with any information about the collision or who may have been driving in the area and have dashcam footage of the road to contact police at 603-225-8600.
