Concord Police Investigate Shooting Inside Alton Woods Apartment
Update: A woman reported to police that she shot her husband during an early morning domestic incident on Saturday on the Heights.
CONCORD, NH — Concord police are at the Alton Woods apartment complex Saturday investigating a shooting.
Limited information is available about the shooting but the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office did confirm the state and police were investigating a suspicious death.
“Based on information currently known to investigators, it does not appear at this time that there is an ongoing threat to the public,” said Kate Giaquinto, the director of communications for the attorney general.

According to scanner chatter, dispatch received the call from the woman around 3:30 a.m. claiming she shot her husband. Police later learned the nickname of the woman and that there were children in the home. The woman stated her husband was choking her, she got her firearm, and shot him, according to dispatch. She told dispatch she had dropped the gun but later, was not cooperating with police as they arrived.

Concord fire and rescue teams were sent to the apartment and staged while police inside attempted to find the children. An officer confirmed finding the husband dead in the apartment.
Later, police attempted to coordinate the children to being taken by a family member so the woman could be taken to Concord Hospital for treatment.
