Concord Shooting Victim Named; Autopsy Conducted Sunday

The NH Attorney General's Office, police are continuing to investigate the death of a man shot inside an Alton Woods apartment on Saturday.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office and Concord police are continuing to investigate the death of Cody Tewell, 31, who was shot and killed inside an apartment at the Alton Woods apartment complex on Saturday.

The attorney general’s office released Tewell’s name publicly and said an autopsy would be performed on Sunday.

Police were sent to the apartment complex just before 3:45 a.m. for a shooting. A woman, according to dispatch, called 911 to report she shot her husband after he was strangling her during a domestic violence incident. The couple’s children were removed from the home and given to another family member. The woman was taken to Concord Hospital for treatment not long after the shooting, according to dispatch.

Police were at the apartment for more than nine hours gathering evidence.

The attorney general’s office stated there was no reason to believe there was any threat to the general public, according to a statement.
