Concord Police Investigating Overdoses At Former Steeplegate Mall Site
Two patients were taken to the hospital on Saturday afternoon after witnesses said they were nonresponsive; EMTs perform RSI on a patient.
CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating an overdose incident at the former Steeplegate Mall property, which sent two people to the hospital on Saturday who were barely alive.
Around 2 p.m., police were sent to 270 Loudon Road, outside of the former Capital City Charter School and TD Bank, for a report of a couple possibly overdosing. After dispatch sent officers, another officer stated they had just received information from a witness that the two people were nonresponsive and foaming at the mouth.
Several officers arrived along with Concord fire and rescue teams. EMTs were able to get the two people breathing, according to an officer at the scene.

A second ambulance was requested and when they arrived, EMTs began an RSI, a rapid sequence intubation or induction, to assist the second patient. One patient was taken to the hospital and, according to an officer, was conscious but not alert around 2:30 p.m. Later, a third ambulance was requested to assist with the RSI. EMTs worked on the patient for about 15 or 20 minutes.
The second patient was taken to the hospital and arrived around 3 p.m.

An officer also requested the police evidence technician van, “just to collect some paraphernalia and other items,” according to scanner chatter.
A watch commander asked if it was a DUI investigation and one officer said it was not.
Around 4 p.m., police were at the scene, still taking pictures and gathering evidence. The ET rig was not seen at the scene. Yellow tape marked off an area of the parking lot and also closed the mall entrance by TD Bank off Sheep Davis Road.
It is unknown how long the police will remain at the crime scene, and no information was available on the couple’s status at the time of publication.
