Concord Police Log: Man Arrested for Choking, Assaulting Girlfriend

Plus, an early morning vibrating phone, relationship accusation leads to assault charges; bad exhaust traffic stop ends in a warrant arrest.

Brittney Carey, 23, of Roxbury Road in Sanbornton, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. on July 17, 2015, on a bench warrant out of Sanbornton for nonappearance in court on a driving after revocation or suspension charge issued on Feb. 5, 2015. She was arrested after a traffic stop on Loudon Road on Gully Hill for driving a Scion without a functioning third brake light and defective exhaust. Carey is due in court on Aug. 3.

Benjamin Cannon, 28, of Springfield Street in Concord, was arrested at 7 p.m. on July 16, for simple assault and domestic violence-simple assault. According to an arrest report and court affidavit, officers were called to Springfield Street for a heated domestic between a father and son. The father alleged that Cannon “assaulted him and then hopped the fence and took off” toward Clinton Street, according to the officer. While investigating the case, Cannon allegedly stuck his head up while hiding in the bed of a pickup truck and began speaking, according to the reports. “Benjamin then attempted to step down from the truck and fell/rolled to the ground,” the officer alleged. “As I approached Benjamin, he attempted to get up, but was unsteady on his feet.” Another officer spoke with the parents who alleged that Cannon was allegedly passed out from intoxication instead of golfing. When the mother went to pick up an item off his bed, he allegedly lunged at her. The father stepped between them to protect her and Cannon allegedly pushed him in the chest. Cannon was arrested and held without bail.

Arthur W. Dixon, 61, of Old Loudon Road in Concord, was arrested at 9:40 a.m. on July 15, was arrested for criminal threatening (intimidation, etc.) after an incident at the Makris Lobster and Steak House on May 9, 2015. He’s due in court on Aug. 17.

Jacey R. Eaton, 21, a homeless woman now located in Concord, was arrested at 8:13 p.m. on July 13, on a bench warrant out of Concord District Court from July 9, 2015, for nonpayment of fines, $547, on a unlawful possession of alcohol charge. An officer was dispatched to Dunkin’ Donuts on Manchester Street for a report that Eaton was at the location. After not finding her there, the officer headed to Cumberland Farms just up the road and found her. Eaton reportedly started crying. “Ms. Eaton was carrying an open bag of potato chips (and) stated that she had not eaten in four days,” the officer reported, “and asked permission to finish eating her potato chips. Ms. Eaton was allowed to finish her potato chips and smoke a cigarette.”

Lauren E. Lewis, 20, of Appleton Street in Concord, received a summons at 8:38 p.m. on June 5, for driving after revocation or suspension after a traffic stop for a driver’s side headlight out on North Main Street in Boscawen. Her license was suspended for default court summons on May 15, 2015.

Kyle R. Putnam, 31, of North Main Street in Boscawen, was arrested at 5 p.m. on June 4, and charged with driving after revocation or suspension and misuse or failure to display plates after a traffic stop on I-93 South near Exit 17. An officer was at the Xtramart on Whitney Road investigating a lost or stolen wallet when a clerk mentioned that a man that was leaving the store was someone she had called to complain about in the past. The officer ran a check on the license of the pickup truck the man was driving and caught up with the vehicle on the Interstate. The license was reportedly from a different truck. Putnam allegedly stated that the 20-day plate expired and he couldn’t get the vehicle registered. Dispatch also found that he had a suspended license and was arrested. Putnam was convicted in October 2014 in Concord District Court for operating after suspension. Later, an active warrant from Feb. 27, 2015, for driving after revocation or suspension was found and that was added to the charges.

Augustin Nkurunziza, 26, of East Side Drive in Concord, was arrested at 8:40 p.m. on May 31, for simple assault and domestic violence-simple assault charges. Officers were sent to Loudon Road for an unknown problem outside of the Morning Star Apartments. The officers saw two men speaking and a third man with a hand that was bleeding and wrapped in toilet paper. The reporting officer noted there were language issues with all involved but there was a translator helping to sort out the situation. During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that Nkurunziza and another man were arguing about the other man’s girlfriend’s presence in the apartment. Nkurunziza allegedly struck the other man across the jaw and pushed him causing the man to fall backwards and cut his hand. Nkurunziza was later arrested.

Shoubert Beauchamps, 35, (pictured) of Bog Road in Concord, was arrested at 4:15 p.m. on May 27, and charged with second-degree assault and domestic violence-simple assault, both felonies, as well as simple assault and domestic violence-simple assault. Officers and a sergeant were sent to Bog Road for a domestic incident. A woman alleged that Beauchamps had assaulted her. She later left with a friend and was on North State Street while being followed by Beauchamps, according to the arrest report. He was later stopped at the Sam’s Convenience Store on Village Street in Penacook. The woman alleged that they had been arguing throughout the day but had left. She decided to pack a bag and leave for the night. Beauchamps reportedly returned home and “charged at her” and allegedly grabbed her by the neck and choked her. “Beauchamps continued squeezing and pushing her backwards until she landed on her back on the bed,” the report alleged. “(She) stated when she fell on the bed her back hit the bed frame causing her pain.” He then allegedly let her go and punched her in the right side of the neck near her ear. When Beauchamps walked away, she fled. The officer noted redness and marks on the woman, according to the report. The reporting officer then went to Sam’s to speak with Beauchamps and arrested him.

Charles A. Maynard Jr., 28, of Old Suncook Road in Concord, was arrested at 11:58 p.m. on May 24, for simple assault, domestic violence-simple assault, and two counts of criminal mischief. Officers were sent to Cumberland Farms on Manchester Street for a report that a woman was assaulted during by her ex after during a children exchange. The woman alleged that Maynard “pushed her, punched her vehicle, and threw her phone,” according to the report. Maynard allegedly pushed the woman after she told him he could not take her car seats, according to the report. After the assault, she went to call police and he allegedly grabbed her cellphone and threw it across the parking lot. She then called 911. The officers then went to speak to Maynard who allegedly “appeared agitated and inquired why we were there.” He alleged that there were problems but she was the cause of them, according to the report. He denied touching the woman, the vehicle, and reportedly said he never saw the cellphone. The officers checked on the children and they appeared to be in good health. After speaking to other witnesses who reportedly saw the mother “flailing her arms as if she were yelling,” Maynard was arrested. Maynard allegedly began swearing and yelling and “wildly slammed his head repeatedly off the partition (of the cruiser),” according to police.

Jason M. Teixeira, 29, of Rumford Street in Concord, was arrested at 4:37 a.m. on May 24, for simple assault and domestic violence simple assault. Officers were sent to South Street for a report of a domestic dispute. The woman alleged that they were sleeping when Teixeira worked her up around 3:30 a.m. and made accusations because her cellphone was vibrating. She got out of bed and told him to leave. Teixeira then allegedly kicked her a few times and twisted her thumb. The officer noted that she was bleeding from the leg and there was blood on the bed sheets. They reportedly continued to argue and he alleged “covered her mouth with his hand and told her to stop yelling for him to leave,” according to the report. He also allegedly kicked her again and flicked a lit cigarette in her face. After speaking with Teixeira, he was arrested. His probation officer contacted and he was put on 72-hour hold.
