Concord Cops Seek Tips After Shooting At Homeless Camp Under The Water Street Bridge

Crimeline: Cops conducted an extensive search for 3 suspects but are looking for more tips; the shooting appears to be an isolated incident.

CONCORD, NH — Despite detaining and questioning several people after a shooting at a homeless camp under the Water Street Bridge on Saturday, no one has been arrested, and the Concord Regional Crimeline is seeking tips for investigators.

Around 7:30 a.m., Concord police and fire and rescue teams were sent to the camp for a report of a man who was shot in the back. The shooting suspect, a man, as well as two accomplices, a man and a woman, reportedly fled from the area. The shooting victim was taken to Concord Hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries, according to Deputy Chief Barrett Moulton of the Concord Police Department.

According to scanner chatter, two guns and a machete were displayed during the incident, with only one shot fired. A woman reportedly flashed a Uzi-style firearm.

“An extensive search of the area was conducted, with multiple persons questioned,” he said. “No arrests have been made at this time related to the shooting. This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no known danger to the public at this time.”

Early in the investigation, the suspects were reportedly seen by police along the tracks, but officers lost sight of them. Police searched along the railroad tracks between Gas Street, Hall Street, the Railyard Apartment complex, and Blue Seal Feeds in Bow. They also searched several homeless camps in the area. Several people were detained, according to scanner chatter. Investigators were at the site for several hours.

Moulton said the incident was still under investigation.
