Concord's Laflam Homers in Florida at Rebel Spring Games

Concord's Renee Laflam, a senior at Wheaton College, homered during a game versus Skidmore College on March 9, knocking in two runs, although the team ultimately lost, 4-3.

The home run, the right fielder's first at-bat of the season, knocked in first baseman Megan Roy who singled earlier in the inning and helped the team vault to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. However, Skidmore pitcher Katie Sorochka proved strong, pitching seven innings and holding the team to three runs. Laflam was two for three, with two runs scored.

Wheaton also dropped a second game to Simpson College.

The games were played in Kissimmee, FL, and were the first games of the 2013 season for the team.
