Concord Speaks: What Was The Best Advice Dad Ever Gave You?

Patch Facebook followers and friends were asked to talk about their father's best advice this week. Here are some of their answers.

CONCORD, NH — Father’s Day is right around the corner, Sunday, in fact, and families will celebrate their time with dad.

The weather in New Hampshire is looking pretty good — Mostly sunny with highs in the lower 70s. The evening will be clear, too, with lows in the upper 40s. In other words, it is going to be a pretty nice day.

As we all know, dads play various roles in our lives. But most importantly, sometimes, is the fatherly advice we may receive when asked.

Dozens of Concord readers offered responses.

Patti said, You can’t put an old head on young shoulders. Lisa replied, If you keep your mouth shut and your ears open, you will never get in trouble. Kristine stated, Never let anyone rent space in your head. And Bonnie had a good one, too: Always pay your bills on time to establish excellent credit.

Time2Play asked several fathers recently what the perfect gift might be. Not surprisingly, razors, despite what you see on television, were not among any of the answers. Read: What Dads in Each State Really Want. Also, not surprising? How many offered answers centered around food!

To all of the fathers out there, have a great day.
