Corrections Searching For New Hampshire Perp Who Threatened A Judge 12 Years Ago
Greg Joseph Gifford was accused of absconding from supervision; his priors include threat, assault, and weapon charges in multiple states.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is asking for the public’s help finding a felon with several convictions, including threatening a judge about 12 years ago.
Greg Joseph Gifford is white, 59, about 5 feet, 4 inches tall, and weighs around 200 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Gifford has several tattoos, including an eagle and a devil with a fork on his left arm, a lightning bolt on his left ear, a spider on the right side of his neck, and a tiger on his back.
Gifford was accused of threatening to harm a government official in June and October 2012 in Derry. He was indicted on three felony counts in March 2013, accused of threatening a judge. A jury found him guilty on all three counts about a year later. Gifford was sentenced to three three-and-a-half to seven-year sentences, served concurrently, with 306 days of credit for time served.

Gifford is currently out on parole but was accused of absconding from supervision. A “violent tendencies” warning was placed on his alert due to his prior convictions.
“Gifford was last known to be homeless, sleeping at rest stops and parking lots,” a corrections alert stated. “Gifford has a lengthy criminal history that spans across multiple states for multiple charges of criminal threatening, assaults, threatening to endanger/kidnap, possession of dangerous weapon-knife, and a drug charge.”
Gifford, the alert stated, has a history of emailing police chiefs and public officials with threatening and suicidal messages.
If you know where Gifford is or see someone who looks like him, do not try to apprehend him yourself. Call the police or the corrections department at 603-271-1804.
