Crimson Tide Varsity Wrestlers Beat Keene In Concord, 42-27

However, the Blackbirds junior varsity wrestlers bested Concord's JV wrestlers on Wednesday, 17-9; 5 teams compete on Saturday.

CONCORD, NH — Concord High School’s varsity wrestlers won their second match on Wednesday, beating Keene, 42 to 27.

The schools were competitive through most of the meet, with wrestlers swapping wins during the first 10 matches. Wrestlers racking up wins for the Crimson Tide included Devon Farwell, Biswas Darji, Cullen Burke, Griffin Norwalt, and Jaxon Carter. The Blackbird winners included Evan Ray, Lily Runez, Carter Trubiano, and Carter Spencer.

In the 11th match, Jack Gillard of Keene beat Maximus Chung in a hard-fought 8 to 4 decision through three periods, tying the teams at 27 points each.

However, Anthony Gualtieri, in the 165-pound category for the Tide, shifted the momentum, pinning Tyler English of Keene in 1:56 minutes. Concord’s Carl Sirrianna and Isaiah Puckett secured the win for the Tide, winning their matches.
