East Falmouth Men Arrested On Felony Graffiti Charges In Lakes Region

Thomas Yarbrough and Jonathan Yarbrough were arrested on charges after lewd graffiti and damaged property were found in Gilford, Laconia.

LACONIA, NH — Two men from Massachusetts were arrested on Friday after being accused of felony-level criminal mischief in two towns, according to Laconia police.

Laconia police began receiving reports from downtown businesses on Thursday about graffiti being sprayed on buildings, including city properties. The investigation, Sgt. Robert Sedgley of the Laconia Police Department said, “generated several public tips,” which police followed up on.

“Much of the graffiti involved offensive, lewd, and obscene imagery,” he said. “Thanks to solid leads, (two) suspects were arrested in the early hours (Friday).”

Sedgley accused the men of spray paint damage not only in Downtown Laconia but “additionally, damage was identified in Gilford, NH, where these individuals are believed to have been involved as well.” He added the men were visiting the area and had no specific ties to the region. The case, Sedgley said, remains ongoing and “further investigation may lead to additional arrests.”

Both men were released on bail and are due in Laconia District Court on Feb. 27 for arraignment.

Anyone with additional information or who has spotted further graffiti related to this incident was asked to contact the Laconia Police Department at 603-524-5252 or through the Tip411 App.

“The Laconia Police Department appreciates the public’s assistance in helping identify and apprehend those responsible,” Sedgley said.
