CONCORD, NH — A Manchester man is facing charges after a chase with New Hampshire State Police that required to use of spike strips to stop the vehicle. At just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, troopers from Troop F were called to New Hampton for a report of a vehicle operating hazardously. The Volvo was said to have been "serving and almost struck two vehicles and a bridge abutment," according to Staff Sgt. Victor Muzzey.

"Troopers responded to area and located the suspect vehicle traveling on Interstate 93 Northbound in the town of Thornton, and attempted to stop the vehicle to which the operator refused," Muzzey said. "Tire deflation devices were successfully and safely deployed deflating three of the vehicle’s four tires."

The sedan, however, continued to drive, leading troopers and other law enforcement officers on a low-speed chase into Franconia Notch Parkway. There, a second set of spike strips deflated the fourth tire. The vehicle then drove off to the median and got stuck, Muzzey noted.
