Granite State Roller Derby Last Game of the Season August 4th

Concord, NH—Come root for your hometown heroines, August 4th.  Concord’s Legislashers will take on the Jersey Shore Beat Down, in Granite State Roller Derby’s last home bout of the 2012 season.

The game is at the Everett Arena in Concord and begins at 7 p.m; doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance on the league’s website: granitestaterollerderby.com, or at one of these local vendors: Spank Alley Skate and Board Shop (upstairs at 8 N. Main St., Concord), Concord Headlines (216 S. Main St., Concord), Dunkin Donuts (60 Manchester Street, Concord) and Arnie’s Ice Cream (164 Loudon Rd., Concord). Tickets also may be purchased at the door.

Flat-track roller derby offers an entertaining and exciting time for the whole family. To thank the fans and celebrate the last home bout of the season, ticket prices have been reduced to 2 for $15, and 4 for $25, children under 5 are admitted free.  Tickets at the door are $10 or $8 when you bring a food item to donate to a local family in need.

 

Granite State Roller Derby is a registered NH nonprofit organization and works in partnership with local charitable organizations in our community. Each month, the crew at GSRD, supports and raises money for local charities. This August, it’s the Dog Days of Derby, and GSRD is supporting Peace and Paws of New Hampshire. A 50/50 raffle at the bout will benefit the nonprofit group that is dedicated to placing abandoned and homeless pets into new forever loving homes.  Donations are also being accepted at granitestaterollerderby.com.

 

Go Local Music presents Captain Chet Lawson’s Snake Oil Revue for halftime entertainment.

 

After the bout, fans are invited to join the ladies of GSRD and Jersey Shore Roller Girls at Chen Yang Li (520 South Street in Bow). Meet the skaters and learn more about the resurgance of roller derby!

 

Granite State Roller Derby was founded in 2010 and is based in Concord, NH. The league’s travel team, The Legislashers, bout regularly against local and regional teams and have just been accepted into the Women Flat Track Derby Association’s Apprentice Program.
