Felon Accused Of Failure To Appear On Weapon Charge: Marshals

CONCORD, NH — The U.S. Marshals-New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force is asking for the public’s help finding a felon, who was previously found guilty on a weapon possession charge two years ago, who is accused of possessing a dangerous weapon again.

Travis Michael Magoon is 37, about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, and weighs 180 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. Magoon has tattoos on his right arm, right wrist, and right front arm, according to Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal.

“Magoon is being sought on an arrest warrant issued by the Belknap Superior Court for failing to appear on charges of being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon (dagger) and resisting arrest,” White said. “Magoon has previously been convicted of being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon. Magoon is known to have ties to the Gilford and Laconia areas of New Hampshire.”

An “armed and dangerous” alert has been placed on his fugitive notice due to the prior dangerous weapon conviction.

According to superior court records, Magoon is a felon due to an aggravated driving while intoxicated charge in Strafford County in April 2002 when he was a teenager. He was accused of felon in possession of a dangerous weapon and alcohol interlock motor vehicle not equipped charge in December 2018 and pleaded guilty nine months later to the possession charge. Magoon was also charged with criminal mischief and theft in Gilford in May 2019 but those charges were nolle prossed later. His current case involves a felony weapon charge and a misdemeanor resisting arrest or detention charge from April in Gilford. Magoon was scheduled to be arraigned on Belknap County Superior Court on May 27 and a warrant was issued for his arrest on June 28.
